Provincial Conference
Funded by Human Resource Skills Development Canada.

You are invited to our Provincial Conference:
A Study of Nova Scotia’s Voluntary/Non-Profit Sector Labour Force
October 25, 2010, Holiday Inn Harbourview, Dartmouth NS

For the first time in Nova Scotia, important research is being conducted on the labour force of the non-profit sector. This ground-breaking study will provide critical information on the size, scope and issues within this vital labour force. Understanding the labour force of the non-profit sector is critical to human resource planning and management, as well as to the sector’s ability to sustain its workforce into the future.

The project is led by the Federation of Community Organizations (FOCO) and Phoenix Youth Programs, and has involved hundreds of non-profit employees across Nova Scotia via personal interviews, online surveys and focus groups. Project funding is provided by Human Resource Skills Development Canada. To present and discuss the results of this labour market study, a one-day conference is being hosted on Monday October 25th at the Holiday Inn Harbourview, Dartmouth NS.

This is an opportunity for diverse non-profit agencies across Nova Scotia to convene and discuss the labour market research, its findings, and its potential to inform strategies and practices to address human resource needs of this sector into the future.

Conference registration is a two-step process:

  1. Complete a registration form and submit it to the Conference Organizer. Upon receipt of your information, an email or letter will confirm your registration. If there is a waiting list, you will be advised.
